HEALTH

Good health is your greatest wealth. Unfortunately, we can't predict when we might fall sick or get injured. Medical emergencies can arise at any time, and the costs associated with healthcare can be staggering. To protect ourselves from the financial burden of medical expenses, it's essential to have healthcare insurance to cover a wide range of healthcare services, such as routine check-ups and unexpected medical emergencies.

Medical Insurance

Medical insurance is a product that covers a list of preselected benefits with a monetary value attached to each. In the event of a medical emergency, you will receive a fixed lump sum amount, which will not change regardless of the type of treatment you require. This insurance is regulated by the Short-term Insurance Act.

Medical Aid

Medical aid is a product that that provides individuals with financial assistance to cover the costs of medical expense, such as treatment, doctors visits or hospitalisation. A medical aid scheme charges members a monthly premium for a set of standardised minimum medical aid benefits. and is governed by the Medical Schemes Act

Gap Cover

Gap cover provides extra protection over-and-above your medical aid. While payouts from medical schemes are limited to Medical Scheme Tariff (MST) amount, medical practitioners may charge more than the MST amount. This mismatch creates a shortfall, which you are liable to pay. Gap cover helps protect you from this shortfall.
