Discovery Bank : A R100 000 prize up for grabs
Clients have a chance to win a prize worth R100 000.

Clients need to shop with their Discovery Bank card either online or in store from 5 November to 31 December 2020. Clients will earn one entry for every tap, scan, swipe or online purchase. Clients can also earn double entries during the Black Friday weekend (26 November to 30 November 2020) and for a limited time during the festive period (16 December to 25 December 2020) when they shop.
If clients have the previously issued Discovery Card, they can enter when they:
Upgrade to either a Discovery Bank Card Account or Discovery Bank Suite by 30 November 2020.
Shop with their new Discovery Bank card until 31 December 2020.
All purchases made with the previous Discovery Card from 5 November 2020 will be counted as entries when they upgrade.
If clients only have a savings account or don’t have any bank product, they need to join Discovery Bank and open a Discovery Bank Transaction Account, Discovery Bank Card Account or Discovery Bank Suite by 30 November 2020 and use their new card for online and in-store purchases until 31 December 2020.

Day to Day Benefits
Discovery covers your day to day healthcare expenses from your available Medical Saving Account. Additional benefits are available on the Day to Day Extender Benefit, if the correct processes are followed :
Medical Savings Account: Day to day medical expenses such as the GP, specialist consultations, medicine (excluding approved Chronic medicine), radiology and pathology claims are paid from the available funds that are allocated to the Medical Savings Account. Any amount that is not used, will carry over to the following year.
The Extender Benefit : Pays for certain day to day benefits after you have run out of your funds in your Medical Savings Account. Covers Pharmacy Nurse clinic consultations in the network of Dischem or Clicks Pharmacy nurses, supported by video call consultations with a Network GP. Should the Nurse refer you to the Network GP, consultations will be covered within a Network GP who meets the digital criteria, when referred by a nurse. Did you know that on the Discovery Smart Plan:
The Classic Smart Plan is designed for families as the contributions for child dependants are only 40% of that of main members.
On the Essential Smart Plan, contributions are the same for main members, adult dependants and child dependants. Families on the Essential Smart Plan could be paying more than what they would on the Classic Smart Plan, with less benefits.
New families qualify for mid-year upgrades
From 1 January 2021, Essential Smart Plan members will be able to upgrade to the Classic Smart Plan in the following scenarios:
Members who are expecting a baby can upgrade within 90 days of adding the newborn to their membership.
Members who add a child dependant to their membership within 3 months of the membership activation can upgrade within 90 days of the child dependant joining the membership.
Discovery will upgrade the membership the month after they receive the request.

A free payment benefit for Vitality members
Vitality clients can now be paid safely by Discovery Bank members using their cellphone numbers. No banking details, no branch codes needed. Discovery Pay is a free benefit for Vitality members, via Discovery Bank.
Discovery Pay enables active Vitality members to receive payments from Discovery Bank clients, regardless of who the Vitality member banks with.
How it works
When a Vitality member’s cellphone number is saved in a Discovery Bank client’s contact list, the Discovery Bank client can pay the Vitality client instantly from their Discovery Bank app. Discovery Bank will securely deposit the funds into the existing linked bank account on record for the Vitality client – without sharing any banking details. It is completely free to receive payments.
Clients will receive an SMS the first time someone pays them, and then they will be asked for a once off authorisation for the payment.
Thereafter, all incoming Discovery Pay payments will automatically be paid into their account. Instead of handling cash, clients can stay safe with digital payments.
